The
4th Annual Mosaic Rescue Reunion
October
4, 2009

Again
this year Carrie
Kessler of Last Chance Arkansas attended the reunion and
got to see dogs she was able to save from
the high kill pound in partnership with Mosaic Rescue.
We also welcomed James and Jennifer Huskins, foster parents
extraordinaire
from Little Rock. Without wonderful volunteers like them
these
dogs would have had no hope. Instead these "mosaics" have
found their way to families in British Columbia who love
them dearly. Click here to
see some photos of the event.
Jennifer
and James Huskins write:
Heartwarming
and Emotional. From this "southern
foster's" perspective, the Fourth Annual Mosaic Rescue
Reunion on October 4, 2009 could not have been any better!
As fosters a lot of emotions were felt that day. However,
the one emotion that stands out is PRIDE. We are overwhelmingly
proud to be part of two wonderful rescue organizations: Last
Chance Arkansas, lead by Carrie Kessler, and Mosaic Rescue,
founded and run by Janet Land and “Sammy.” Janet
is the ultimate doggie "Godmother.” Go Janet!
It was awe inspiring to see so many in attendance that beautiful
fall Sunday. All of you came to show your appreciation and
to show off how proud you are of you four legged family members!
The day was extremely gratifying. To see the dogs thriving
in loving homes and the dedication given to them is nothing
short of amazing. Some of the dogs first came to the Victoria
area with obvious (and some hidden) behavioral issues. If
only we knew all of their back-stories. Or, maybe we don’t
want to know. Some things may be better off left to our naïve
imaginations. But when we looked around the large gathering
of adopted dogs and their proud families, the “circle
of life” took on a whole other meaning. One striking
thing that we noticed during our time at Island View Park
is the diversity--each dog one of a kind--and we would not
want it any other way.
It was hard not to fall all over those dogs who spent time
in our home. We ended up being smitten with all of the wonderful
dogs! To see that our small contribution for several lucky
shelter dogs has changed their lives and also the lives of
many of their adopters...we are humbled and gratified.
We look forward to seeing everyone in BC again soon.
We will do our part to see that the reunion is even
bigger next year!
